Help With Your Homework

Now that we’re into the school year, you may have some homework assignments that are weighing you down. Do you need some help with some of those assignments? Are you struggling with a particular subject? Help is as close as your computer and your Rapid City Public Library card.

The library has a variety of online resources that can help students of all ages with their learning needs. And best of all – the resources are easy to access from your home or school with your library card. You can also use the public computers at either the Downtown or North libraries.

Log on to www.rapidcitylibrary.org/services/resources.asp to find help with your homework, to take practice tests, find a tool to manage your school workload, and get help answering tough questions.

Live Homework Help is an online tutoring service for students from grades 4 to 12, college students, and adult learners. Connect to Live Homework Help to be connected with an experienced tutor between 3-10 pm, seven days a week. Your online tutor can help you build the skills and find the resources you need to complete each assignment.

Do you have a pressing question and need an immediate answer? Have you gotten stuck while trying to find the information you need on the internet? Ask A Librarian connects you with a librarian to ask questions and get answers. Librarians can help you with all kinds of questions: you can find the latest census statistics for Rapid City; settle arguments about historic events and places; or find out more about current world leaders and challenging issues. Are you worried about tests? Do you experience the pangs of test anxiety? You can reduce the stress of taking tests by using the Learning Express Library to prepare and practice. Learning Express Library offers more than 300 practice tests for grade-school students through adults. Some of the tests offered include SAT, ACT, GED, GRE, Civil Service, EMS, Cosmetology, TOEFL, U.S Citizenship, and many more. You can practice taking the tests as often as you want, and get immediate feedback on how you did, including your score, explanations of the right answers, and analysis of your individual results.

World Book Online Reference Center is a great way to find current encyclopedic information while in the comfort of your home or in the library. World Book Online is user-friendly and features atlases, dictionaries, and educator resources. This encyclopedia is divided into three sections: World Book Kids (Grades K-5), World Book Students (Grades K-5), and World Book Advanced (Grades 9-12). Check out this great resource by accessing it through the RCPL website.
